A group of elderly community members visited Green Leaf Bistro at for what they believed would be a Halal meal. The restaurant’s exterior prominently displays “Halal” signage, and its menu contains no warnings about pork dishes.

For many years, young people felt like their voices were not heard. But this year, they are working hard and voting to make sure their hopes become real. They are using the internet and social media to spread their message, and they believe that a better New York is possible.
