New Details Emerge in Lorenzo Salgado Araujo Shooting That Contradict ICE
New witness statements and a visit by U.S. Representative Sylvia Garcia to the detention facility where key witnesses are being held have added new scrutiny to the fatal shooting of 52-year-old Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican homebuilder who was killed by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent during a traffic stop after federal authorities acknowledged he was not the intended target of their operation. Salgado Araujo was shot in the abdomen on the morning of July 7 in Houston's Magnolia Park neighborhood while driving a white construction van carrying three workers, including his brother. He later died at a local hospital.
